I'm at Doug's office--no library work this afternoon due to what is threatened to be a real doozie of a storm -- freezing rain, snow, a half inch of ice on everything, and colder tomorrow so it will stay. But so far, it has been mostly rain and not building up on anything to speak of yet. Stopped here for computer access and a smile (Doug always pops right up when the front door opens and closes--should always clue him it's only me and he can stay seated at his computer, but I don't always remember, and didn't today. Started working on ornaments last evening and am glad there will be extra time today, although the thought of 7 1/2 hours of work time lost and not paid is a little bothering--but have had extra time working and will next week a little too due to one staffer having to cut back on hours, so I think it will all even out in the end.
Will have to at least string some lights around the living room picture window and among the geraniums (no tree so far) as it will be a cloudy soggy day outside, and the lights will be cheery. We had a little candle lit and on the supper table last night and that was pretty.

Ah, an ice day sounds almost good to me right now! We have had temperatures in the upper 70's for the past two days. Nice to be out in, but not very Christmas-like.
What a great idea to do a family blog, Jan! If I can figure out how to register, I'm with you!
Unfortunately, we will not be coming to Wisconsin for Christmas after all. The budget just does not allow it this year. I do hope to have some good phone conversations, though, with everyone. Not the same as being face-to-face, but I'm afraid it will have to do for now. If anyone would like to plan a trip to Raleigh in 2008, we would certainly love to see you!
Love and hugs to all,
Lori and all
Hi Lor,
Wasn't really figuring on you guys for Christmas--missed that one! Don't have a clue what we're doing, and am astonished it is next week already. Am off AMs starting Friday--and then will have tons to do.
What will your holiday in NC be like then?
J
I now have a clue--ran into Sue at school today and Mom and I are invited for Christmas day after morning church. There will be ham --
and hopefully Jessica will be well. She was ill at Bunkers this morning.
